Transcript

My plans for my 40’s were to go hiking in the Compostela. And I had been saving money since I was 36. So for many years, I’ve been saving money to go backpacking alone in Europe, because I was like, “Cool, my kid will be five.” I started saving money when my kid was a baby. And I was like, “I can’t do this. It’s too much work, babies are so much work.” And I was like, “I’ll just put money aside for when she’s five and I’ll be able to leave for a few weeks and go backpacking around Europe and see my friends.” And I took that money, and I bought a wheelchair, an electric wheelchair, and it’s not – that’s my gift from me for my 40’s. It’s given me a ton of independence because now I can, for example, I took my kid to be vaccinated … it’s given me a ton of freedom, but it’s not the freedom I wanted for my 40’s. For my 40’s, I wanted to finally have a little bit of independence from my young one and go backpacking and hike the Compostela and so it’s just, I think it’s, long COVID really causes you to realign who you are and what you want to do with your life and it’s really hard.
