Coping Strategies and Self Care – Melissa

Melissa feels better when she thinks about the things she is grateful for.

Written testimony

I went for a walk. [laughs] Yeah, I went for a walk. I’m blessed with food. My son is here … I talked to my brother … he’s in a different province … he’s been mentally ill … I want to help people with mental health in the future … I think today I was more happy because I found out also that the masks might be removed. So that kind of, “OK, cool! I’ve got these new lipsticks” …

I think summer, spring is coming and I think the virus is a little bit of the weight has been lifted now. All the little smaller shops are, well, what’s left of them, open and you can socialize a bit more, you can see more family members, you can have get-togethers, weddings, etc. So I think that has actually lifted the whole of [city], wherever people are up today and knowing about the masking and the mandates and all that stuff.
