Jean
1 year since diagnosis
Age at interview: 61
Jean was diagnosed with COVID in early 2021 and recovered shortly after experiencing mild symptoms. About a month later Jean started experiencing symptoms, such as vertigo, vision problems, headaches and brain fog, that still persisted at the time of this interview almost a year later of her initial diagnosis. With the support of her family doctor, Jean was able to connect with a long-COVID clinic where she has access to peer support, education sessions, and care from various health care providers (e.g., physiotherapist, dietitian, social worker). Jean has a good support system from her friends and family and is taking her recovery one day at a time. Jean hopes that people can keep an open mind about long-COVID and be supportive of those who are living with the illness.
