Jennifer had COVID more than 12 months ago and after 5 months she realized that her symptoms were not gong away. She has been unable to work due to her symptoms that include brain fog, fatigue, joint pain and at times a lack of oxygen. Stress agrevates her symptoms and having a low income and not being able to work, contribute to stress. She has seen different health care professionals and will soon start a 12-week long COVID program. One of the main challenges in her care is that the symptoms are considered seperately and she wishes that there is more coordinated care. In addition, it is challenging to decide whether symptoms are caused by long-COVID or if she may have other conditions that need to be checked as well. She has been careful with her social contacts as she does not want to get COVID again. She hopes that there will be more research and specialized care and resources for people suffering with long-COVID symptoms.
