Violaine finds that exposure to extreme cold helps with her lungs and voice.
Transcript
[My partner and I have a cabin deep in the woods, so we discovered that exposure to the cold, the very, very cold, being at minus 20 for many hours, helped me enormously! So for the whole winter, that first winter, but we did it the second winter too, we slept without heating. It was so cold where we were. We spent the whole day outside, but because it soothed my lungs enormously, I was able to recover a good part of my voice that way. We soon realized that as soon as I was in the heat, I lost my voice completely. When I was cold, I’d get it back. I could breathe again. So now we’re exposed to extreme cold for 10 or 12 hours at a time, with no heating. I don’t know what state I’d still be in right now, if we hadn’t made that discovery on our own and given ourselves the misery of being in the extreme cold.] Translation from original French.
