It’s been nearly nine years since my sons died. It’s been oh, you know 6-7 years since I had post partum depression. And I think for me um there’s an expression about how when you have a baby the years are short but the days are long [laugh]. And um I think trying to realize that there is an end and it may feel like a really long time from now, but eventually it will feel like a really short time. And um this idea that if you look back on your life and you’re 90 years old and as difficult as this time is it’s going to seem like a short time. Um so it’s hard, you can, you know, if you focus on the months it’ll seem like forever. And you have to think about what do I need to do to get to tomorrow? And the rest will take care of itself. Um I don’t know whether that’s the best advice. But [laugh] exactly looking back on it now with this perspective I realized that um that it is short. And with all my fears about being disconnected to my daughter I don’t feel disconnected to her now. And so those first 9-10 months of struggle didn’t seem to, you know, cause massive problems for her. So I guess we’re okay. [laugh]
