Recovery and Thoughts About the Future – Cher

Cher would like to be able to sit up so she could, more easily, participate in family life.

Transcript

Right now, our goal – my husband and I’s goal, is to get me to a place where I can sit for a period of time, so that I can get a wheelchair, so that I can rejoin my family and my community. Right now, every birthday – my husband graduated from school, and it all has to be either virtual, or the whole family’s on my bed. And we turn the bed into the dining table. So I’d really like for us to be able to live a family life, and not have them always having to come up into my room. And, you know, it’s not very big, can’t have lots of people over; even if I could handle having people over, I couldn’t do it. So we’re right now working on – I drink salt water every day, a certain amount of salt water, because that’s what you need for POTS. And I have compression stockings, and compression abdominal binder, and trying to do all of the things that I can do to make it so that I can sit up without crashing.
